Shannon Eileen Bachmann
class of 2001, communication/entertainment industry emphasis, music industry (minor)
when a siren: 1997-2001 (webmaster, 1999-2001)
the scoop: After graduation, Shannon was signed to IMG Records and released her debut album, which won Album of the Year from the LA Music Awards. Her band (including fellow Siren alums Melanie Nyema and Lauren Santiago) was flown to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to sing for the troops. Shannon was also selected as a quarterfinalist in the Radio Star contest by Sony/Winterfresh, and received the Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting Award from the Great American Song Competition. However, Shannon recently parted ways with IMG in order to gain more control of her career. She is currently writing and recording in the studio, working with with three-time Grammy-winning producer/mixer/engineer, Warren Riker (The Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Santana), on her first independent EP. Check out the new tunes on MySpace on her website. She's also now on iTunes, so look her up there!

when a siren: 1997-1999 (president, 1997-1998)
the scoop: Connie was the first President of Sirens and came up with the group name. She continued to sing a cappella when she went to law school and is now a civil rights lawyer in Los Angeles. At this point, her singing performances are strictly limited to the shower and drunken karaoke outings. Connie loves catching up with old friends, so please drop her a note at connieyc@gmail.com.

when a siren: 1997-2001 (musical director, 1997-1999)
the scoop: Guang Ming is a student at the University of Chicago law school (JD expected 2004), putting her chemical engineering degree to good use. She is crazy involved there, running random programs and restarting the mixed a cappella group. On the side, she writes a cappella reviews at www.rarb.org, and tries to help out with the California American Legion Auxiliary Girls State. Her small athletic abilities are now directed toward the art of golf. She can be reached at gmeaslon@rarb.org. In March 2004, she married fellow law student Joel Whitley.

Asabi E. Goodman
class of 1998, chemical engineering, east asian languages and cultures-japanese (minor)
when a siren: 1997-1998
the scoop: Asabi was one of the founding Sirens members and sang/recorded with the group during its first year. Upon graduation, Asabi spent six months in Tokyo, Japan completing her minor and returned to the U.S. (beautiful, dusty Bakersfield, Calif.) to pursue a career in the oil industry. Three years of grime and the smell of rotten eggs (hydrogen sulfide gas!) found Asabi pursuing a career in the water/wastewater treatment industry where for the past four years she has found pure career bliss! Not to put her singing talents on hold, Asabi performs in a variety of musicals with the City's local community theaters. You can drop her an e-mail.

Jenn de la Fuente (formerly Javier)
class of 2001, print journalism
when a siren: 1997-99 (business manager, 1997-99)
the scoop: Jenn is living it up (trying to, at least) as a sports copy editor at The Sacramento Bee in Sacramento, California. Her job entails working lots of nights, scratching her head at other people's stories and making everything that goes into the sports section sound good. She married longtime boyfriend and fellow sports reporter, Edward de la Fuente (a 1998 USC grad) in November 2004 and both of them live with three cats, Gania, Ganita and Ganio. Free time is rare, but it's spent dancing, (trying to) play softball, and watching her beloved Trojans sports teams on TV. She's obsessed with e-mail and checks it at least 10 times a day, so drop her a line at jrosebud@earthlink.net. You can also check out her website, a girl named rosebud, or read her blog. She also knits, crochets, does web and graphic design and other crafty things, and has a shop and yet another website devoted to those pursuits.
